If money doesn't matter (and if it's really about scanning tons of slides), I would choose the Nikon 5000 with the slide feeder, but also and in any case a professional scanning software, like the SilverFast Archive Suite. IT8 scanner calibration, Multi-Exposure and other features do increase image quality and decrease manual photoshop post processing.
